Scale RC aircraft from the smallest electric RC planes to  giant scale RC.

Scale RC aircraft are the most popular models. Here you can find information on all aspects of scale RC airplanes.

This page will concentrate on civil scale RC aircraft and between the wars model aviation. For the Great War planes take a look here.  For WW2 warbirds, click here.

I will also include a few models from the "Golden Age" of aviation. This is the period between the wars, when so many beautiful airplanes were built and they do make great scale RC airplanes!

The Hangar 9 Taylorcraft RC Aircraft

RC Aircraft-1

This photo shows the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft  ARF RC airplane. This scale airplane is also available as a BNF version.

Wing span is 80.5" and the length is 63.5". With a wing area of 1150 sq. in., the total weight should be 14 to14.5lb. Regarding power requirements, 1.0 to 1.6 cu.in. 2 stroke RC engines or 1.28 to 1.8  4-stroke engines are recommended. If an RC gas engine is your preference then a 26cc would be ideal.

If you prefer electric RC planes, then a Power 110 outrunner brushless motor should fly the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft, very well.

Visit this page for full details of the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft and purchasing information.

This model has been around for quite a while now. It was initially offered in the red and white color scheme of the US Navy, but the latest versions are in the blue and white colors of the US Air Force.

It makes into a model that can be flown by the not-so experienced flyer and the more advanced will love it too!

The Parkzone RC Extra 300

There was a time, not that long ago, when the only way to own a fully aerobatic, scale RC plane like the Parkzone Extra 300, was to spend months building and covering from a model aircraft kit.

Now you can just spend your money and receive a completely finished and ready to fly model, right out of the box!.
