The Blade 350 QX3 AP Combo is a great camera quadcopter that can fly fully automatically and take professional quality video and stills
Please note that that this model is now discontinued!
The Blade Chroma has replaced it. Click here for more information!
This is the third and final version of the Blade 350 QX3 -see this page for details of the other 2 simpler versions.
This comes complete with the CGO2 3-Axis Camera/Gimbal (AP Combo)
This is a package that will fly automatically, stay at a selected hover position or fly in a circle, around the operator. Another feature is the "Return Home" mode, where the model will return to the spot where the motors were first started and land automatically.
By selecting "Agility mode" the model can now be flown like a conventional quadcopter and is capable of aerobatics.
Believe it or not it was a challenge to find what is included for your $800.00! I finally took a look at the manual and was able to make the following list.
Absolutely nothing! If you were to buy from Red Rocket Hobbies, you would receive a spare Lipo battery free of charge.
Please note that this battery is NOT enclosed in a plastic case, but is of a propitiatory nature (unlike the competition) and is available from several manufacturers. If you are shopping around for spare batteries, just make sure that it is 3000mAh 3S 11.1V 20C Lipo with an EC3 connector.
Try the local hobby shop for RC Lipo batteries and shop around on the web. You may be surprised at the variation in price!
The manufacturer of the Blade 350 QX3 AP Combo is Horizon Hobby. Blade is the division specializing in RC helicopters, quadcopters and drones.
Horizon is one of the biggest (If not the biggest) RC hobby suppliers in the world. They build and or supply RC planes, helicopters, cars and trucks, boats, trains and all the spare parts required.
So there background is the hobby side of the industry and they have a superb reputation for excellent customer service.
I have used Horizon for years and their help on the phone is always first class. No question is too simple for an experienced expert to answer.
This is quite a long video, actually it is a collection of smaller ones that can be indexed to the one you may want.(Note the arrows in the bottom left corner)
This is the official Horizon Hobby film of the Blade 350 QX3 AP Combo and has a lot of good info.
I always think that a look at the manual can answer a lot of questions. Look here to view a copy.
It is very well written and certainly not in "Chinglish"! There is no assembly to speak of, but before flying it should be read from cover to cover and take note of the need to "Bind" the transmitter to the receiver as well as the chapter on calibration.
