Scale RC aircraft from the smallest electric RC planes to giant scale RC.Scale RC aircraft are the most popular models. Here you can find information on all aspects of scale RC airplanes. This page will concentrate on civil scale RC planes and between the wars model aviation. For the Great War planes take a look at World War 1 RC Airplanes. For WW2 warbirds take a look at World War Two RC Aircraft. I will also include a few models from the "Golden Age" of aviation. This is the period between the wars, when so many beautiful airplanes were built and they do make great scale RC airplanes! The Hangar 9 Taylorcraft. ![]() This photo shows the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft ARF RC aircraft. This scale RC airplane is also available as a BNF version.
Wing span is 80.5" and the length is 63.5". With a wing area of 1150 sq. in.,
the total weight should be 14 to14.5lb. Regarding power requirements, 1.0 to 1.6
cu.in. 2 stroke RC engines or 1.28 to 1.8 4-stroke engines are
recommended. If an RC gas engine is your preference then a 26cc would be ideal.
If you prefer electric RC planes, then a Power 110 outrunner brushless motor
should fly the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft, very well.
