The Top Flite P-40 Warhawk Giant Scale ARF is constructed of balsa/ ply and covered with authentic flat finish monokote. F/G cowl, scale cockpit & 55cc gas.
I love this photo! Taken from the Top Flite web site, I think it shows everything great about flying large scale RC.
The Warhawk has just crossed the end of the runway, with flaps and landing gear down. The engine is at a little above the lowest idle point, we are lined up down the center of the runway and we are getting ready to start the final flare.
This P-40 Warhawk is of balsa and ply construction with a covering of flat finish monokote. All the scale details are included and Robart retracts are available.
This ARF RC airplane comes complete with a detailed cockpit kit that is good as is but can be added to for a more detailed look.
The fiberglass parts include the beautifully finished cowl along with a belly pan and landing gear pods.
Here you can see all the parts laid out. Note painted aluminum spinner and the cockpit details. Unfortunately Top Flite do not include a pilot, so you will have to find your own!

Robart make a set of electric retracts that I believe are the best way to go.
Pneumatic actuated units are also available, but maybe these electrics are simpler and more reliable.
Note that both types rotate as they retract, just as the full size Warhawk did.

Take a look at the Top Flite manual. This will give you a good idea of what to expect, from this kit.
