Here is a great scale RC plane, that is a jet.Modern technology makes this dream a reality!
Of the many EDF jets available today, this has to be one of the most affordable.
The fuselage and vertical stabilizer are molded from fiberglass and the wings and tail are balsa sheeted and covered with UltraCote.
A wing span of 33.8" and a final weight of 3.44lbs max. ensures a sprightly flying performance.
The recommended ducted fan unit is the E-Flite Delta-V 69mm, powered by a 15 DF 3200Kv outrunner brushless motor.
To make this model GO, you will need a 4s 14.8V 3200-3300mAh lipo battery. The speed control unit required is a 60A brushless.

E-Flite: BAe Hawk 15 DF ARF

One of the nicest looking EDF jets available, the BAe Hawk features a finished fiberglass fuselage and sheeted wings and tail plane.
With a wing span of 33.5" and a finished weight of 2.87lb, the Hawk is a fast flying electric ducted fan (EDF).
The two-piece wing slides onto carbon fiber tubes to make transportation easy.
This is a 4-channel model that requires 4 RC servos(Sub-micro). Note that there is no rudder but the nose wheel is steerable.
The hawk is designed for the E-Flite Delta-V 69mm ducted fan unit, powered by the 15DF outrunner brushless motor.
A 60 A RC ESC is required and the minimum lipo battery to consider is a 3S 11.1V 3000-3300mAh. A 4s lithium polymer battery gives super performance and blistering speed!

E-Flite: Super Airliner DF ARF

With a wing span of 55", the total finished weight should not exceed 3.25lb.

E-Flite: Delta-V 15 69mm Electric Ducted Fan

The E-Flite F-86 Sabre and BAe hawk are specifically designed for this Delta-V EDF. Constructed from injection molded fiberglass-filled PPS, it features a factory balanced 5-blade rotor. Static thrust with a 3S 11.1V lipo battery is 1.7lbs. If a 4S 14.8V battery is used then the thrust increases to 2.8lbs.

E-Flite: BL15 Ducted Fan Motor, 3600Kv

This RC electric motor is deigned to power the Delta-V 69mm EDF.
High quality construction with ball bearings and a hardened shaft, it can turn 31,000 RPM on a 3S lipo battery and 40,000 if a 4S battery is used.
This brushless RC motor will provide great performance in 68-70mm diameter fan units requiring a 28mm inrunner motor.

E-Flite: Habu 32 DF ARF

EDF jets have come a long way in the last few years and it is now possible that the EDF jet can now equal the RC turbines for performance!
The E-Flite Habu features a painted fiberglass fuselage and vertical stabilizer.
The wings and horizontal stabilizers are made from sheeted balsa and expertly covered in UltraCote.
These same surfaces are easily removable using carbon fiber blade spars and aluminum sockets.
All control surfaces are pre-hinged and the model is flap ready.
Note that the duct design is hyper-efficient and no drag producing air cheater holes are used.
You will be glad to hear that E-Flite 15-25 size electric retracts(Sold separately) can be bolted in and access hatches for the fan unit and the lipo battery are built in.
With a wing span of 40.5"and a finished weight of 7.4lbs max, the performance is spine tingling!
High speed passes, down the runway, will induce goose bumps!
As is typical with ARF RC airplanes, the Habu comes completely finish built but the radio,electronics and electric ducted fan unit must be supplied by the builder.
The fan unit required, is the E-Flite Delta-V 32 80mm diameter, powered by a DF32 2150Kv brushless motor. The RC ESC must be an 80Amp brushless unit.
The recommended lipo battery is a 6S 22.2V 5000 mAh 30C unit.
A 5-channel radio is also needed along with 8-Micro RC servos.
